Aircraft maintenance
and repair service absolutely
necessary to ensure that the
aircraft is
airworthy. An
aircraft is said airworthy or
not is determined by the minimum standards issued by either the government and also the
manufacturer. For those reasons,
the
operators have
to make
plans in maintenance, repair and allocate sufficient funds for that purpose.
A plane is air
transportation device applying high safety standards considering the fact that this transportation device moves in the air, not on the
ground. Thus
the government
together with manufacturers implement the strict rules in the maintenance and repair problems. The government also always supervise this activity and
not hesitate to
impose sanctions for
any violations slightest. Sanctions imposed on the operators varied, began from an official reprimand, a fine, or
even flying with the terms and freezing (grounded) fleet. All this is done
in order to maintain safety for the
passengers who use the services of the airlines.
For those airlines that operate a
new
fleet, the first few
years will get a warranty maintenance and repair from manufacturer, so that the funds necessary to issue is smaller.
Instead, the
airline using second-hand fleet need
to consider greater cost in maintenance and repair. All of that is an option as well as the consequences for each airlines in doing business.
